This is one weird-ass book! Not at all what I expected. h really should be retitled something like " Conquest of the Nerds" or " Perfecting your inner robot". The book itself, is far less sinister than it has been accused of. It, for the most part is a simple self help guide to improving yourself, ( with some, granted, more controversial elements) but really nothing that doesn't happen in every bar in America every Saturday night. Guys hitting on girls with preprepared lines, creating illusions of themselves, trying to be the life of the party with the main focus being on leaving with a bedmate. The wierdness in the book comes when you realize that the primary focus here quickly becomes the process rather than the hoped for result. These guys are there to impress their buddies or net buddies far more than the girls themselves. The phone number becomes the prize, rather than the girl. In the end. you are left with an incredibly pitifully sad, depressingly deplorable group of super nerds with almost no redeeming qualities. What started out as a fairly interesting look at social dynamics deep dives south into mental health issues and "What does it all mean?". Some better advice - Lighten up and be your best self !!!
