The Chemist by Stephenie Meyer
4.0

Honestly, I shipped her with the other brother. Aca-awkward.

The Chemist was a pretty interesting audio to listen to while my soul was slowly dying at work. It definitely gave me some good ideas if I ever want to commit murder.. but sadly, I'll stick to wine and eating my feelings.

In this book, you will meet Alex.. but her real name isn't really that.. because she's a spy and does it even matter what it is? Either way, she's an amazing character and kicks ass when it comes to interrogating people. Silent but deadly. Then there's Dan, the suspect in question, who somehow falls in love with her. Eventually, everyone realizes that she was set up and captured the wrong guy. It mostly came to that conclusion when his brother, Kevin, came into the picture demanding what the hell is going on to his brother.

Of course the sexual tension was there.. and I hardcore shipped Alex with Kevin. ALAS, her heart went elsewhere.. aka Dan. Their relationship, chemistry, and smut was cute but the boy was dumb and annoyed me. He was constantly putting them in unnecessary danger.. and I just kept wanting to put a leash on him. This is probably why I secretly, and not so secretly, wanted her to end up with Kevin. It might just be me though and I will continue to ship them until I die.

Overall, it was a good book. I loved how it dealt with spies, betrayal, and shit. I loved it - I just wished I got a different ending, romantically.

Still salty about it.
