Random personal thought: I've read a lot of books that involve various forms of mating between characters. Whether they be fated or chosen or blood or whatever. They almost always involve some sort of ritual or ceremony. And they all vary. This was one of the best mating rituals I've ever read. It was so beautifully done and truly loved me when I read it.
