The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian: Book One by Robert E. Howard

This was really a surprise for me, how much I enjoyed it. Reading these stories, I really saw how many authors that came after were influenced by these works. You could also see the writers that had an influence on Howard. His friendship with Lovecraft was especially evident throughout. I saw several moments of surprising amounts of horror that I especially enjoyed. While I enjoyed most of the stories in this collection, I do have to say that the first half especially stood out to me. Highly recommend, it reads pretty quick.
