Why We Can't Wait by Martin Luther King Jr.

5.0

Delving deeper into MLK’s thoughts was a profound experience. Having him walk you through the events of 1963 is transformative. Often times we get a polluted image of MLK’s politics and going to the route is necessary in my opinion. I don’t want to write a dissertation, but I would be remiss to give this any less than 5 stars. I will say that this is extremely focused on Birmingham which is an effective narrative choice, but I personally would have liked a more risk view of the year. I think every other thing King was involved in during that year is a little glossed over in comparison, but we only have so much prose. Can’t wait to read more of his writing!
