This book was SO GOOD! While I guessed some of the plot points early, this author created a compulsively compelling read with complicated family dynamics, an unlikable female protagonist, dual timelines, and mystery.
Everything about this was pure perfection, including how horrible I found Beth, the FMC. But what I love about her is she is an incredibly complex character who makes me think. I’m known for loving well written, unlikable female characters and this one hits all the right notes. The author creates a nuanced character that you can’t help hating.
Then, on top of that, the writing is just done well. It’s got a lot of elements going for it, especially as it’s only 319 pages. Characters are fleshed out. The story is a page turner. Each page packs a punch and is interesting.
Overall, I loved this book. It’s getting a lot of hype online and I think that it’s well deserved.
