I really enjoyed this standalone set in the same world as The Savage and the Swan. I enjoyed this even more than I did  The Savage and the Swan. I liked Aster and Scythe as characters more than I ever felt for Dade and Opal. The first half off the book dragged a little bit, but it picked up and was worth the journey.
