Before We Were Strangers by Renée Carlino

5.0

This is my first Renee Carlino book and omg it blew me away! I felt so much love for these two characters and I was so invested in their relationship which is what a good romance makes you feel. I adore love stories that aren't perfect because most relationships aren't and people are going to make mistakes. This is the kind of book to give you hope and it captures how losing love can really affect your life and future relationships. I love how the POVs didn't switch constantly, they stayed with one of the characters for awhile then switched.

I did listen to Jeff Buckley for the majority of the book and then listening to Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead at the last few chapters had me so emotional. Even when I seen the title of the book I knew I'd love it, because being strangers after being so in love is heartbreaking and something I love reading about because of how often it happens. This is beautiful and I can't wait to read more from this author.
