The Gentleman's Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

3.0

This was a fun book that started out as a young man's last hurrah before taking up the mantle of his father's business...and turned into an action novel with alchemy and pirates. (I guess I never read all the way to the end of the description.) I liked the novel more when it was being what seemed to be realistic, and felt like it got off track (and stayed there) once they were talking about immortality. There are many poignant moments, and it is nice to see how Monty grew up and discovered other people's realities over the course of their time abroad.
