I really love how unique Valente's writing feels. She comes up with stories and formats that I wouldn't think of and pulls me into a world I didn't realize would be interesting. There are definitely times where I feel like wtf am I reading and why should I care about all these people, but her prose is gorgeous and the imagery is fascinating that I always keep reading. One of the most interesting writers in SFF out there for me.
