Blood and Circuses by Kerry Greenwood

This was definitely a departure from most of the Miss Fischer books since our protagonist goes undercover, but the story was still a fun ride! I was much more concerned for Miss Fischer’s safety in this story than in any other. In this and the previous book the Green Mill Murder, our heroine pushes herself to the fringes of ability and proves that she is still “a goddess” as her author describes.
