The Armageddon Rag by George R.R. Martin
5.0

Well this makes a change from the usual George R R book. And it makes sense, just by looking at him you know he must be into the psychedelic 70s rock scene. The writer who is our hero is most probably him.

I really enjoyed this. I loved the way that he looks back at being wild, radical and young and the sadness of being older and looking back and realising your not the same anymore.

And George really knows how to build up tension and a sense of foreboding.

It's actually quite complex I think and I found I was more interested in the reminiscing side of the story. Missing who you used to be.

This culminated in bring the (ageing) rock band back together. Clearly this is never a good move.

Things I didn't like about this book. The attitude to women. Not a fan but this is a book about the 60s /70s. I have to chill out a bit I guess.
