A little cheesy and a little too name droppy. But it kept me engaged, the subject matter was entertaining and gripping, and David Mitchell’s writing is beautiful. He really makes you feel London in the late 60s. I loved the intersection with two other David Mitchell books - Bone Clocks and the Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. Not David Mitchell’s best (by far) but still entertaining. And David Mitchell’s worst is still miles more interesting than much else!
