I have this book on my TBR for over a year now. I'm so sad that I waited so long to finally read it. This book is amazing and is my first real 5 star read of this year.
This story was unique. Mia has build up her walls so high after something traumatic has happened, because of this, she feels absolutely nothing. She has not cried since she was about 9 years old and has never been in love. Ollie on the other hand feels too much. Normally I don't like love at first sight, but in this one it worked.
I loved seeing the relationship blossom between Mia and Ollie. It was nice to see that Mia finally found someone who listen to her and be there for her, even when she shuts everybody out and does everything to hurt that person to keep that person at a distance. Slowly her walls were coming down and she experiences feelings she has never had before.
I really loved Ollie and how he treats Mia. Sometimes the things he said were a little to cheesy for me, but that didn't lessen my enjoyment.
The plot twist at the end I didn't see coming. Both Mia and Ollie were put through hell and I hope they get the happy ending they deserve.
This is the first book this year that made me cry. Reading about Mia's past was really heartbreaking.
I liked the writing style. Also, I found the pacing to be perfect. When I wasn't reading it, I was thinking about it.
I highly recommend this book, but check the trigger warnings first. It deals with some heavy topics.
I can not wait to read the rest of this series.
