This is a clever and rich novel full of interesting, original ideas and world building. I finished it eager to read the next in the series.
The only problem I had with it was the ‘piratey’ section, which seemed out of place and resulted in the main protagonist acting out of character. It jarred for me but wasn’t enough to spoil the experience.
