This book was nothing like I expected. The cover makes me think typical historical romance and what I got instead was a fantasy romance written very similarly to other all time favorites lien Beauty by Robin McKinley and Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones.
While I know this book won't be everyone's cup of tea, it hit all the right spots for me. The romance was delicious and I loved seeing them develop feelings from both POVs. The fantasy was just built enough to understand it and didn't go into unecessary details. Overall, this book was a real win. Considering I got it from a romance mystery book bag, I'm very pleased with how much I liked it and worried for the rest of the books in the bag, not gonna lie.
