This was a cute book. I loved the Victorian setting and the creepy ritual in the beginning. Although it kept me interested, I felt that the ending and explanation was a little rushed. It seemed open to a sequel due to some aspects of Stella's family/life that are not fully explained. I am not sure it really warrants a sequel though. One of the reasons I picked it up right now is because it is a stand alone. Although I found it fun, it is not one I am sure my students would pick up.
