Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater
5.0

Who is Maggie Stiefvater, and how did she learn to manipulate my feels so masterfully?

I blew through this book with relish and abandon. I'd honesty forgotten that there was to be a fourth installation, and as the book wound to a shattering close I kept thinking, "This can't be it. THIS CAN'T BE IT!!!" Thank GOD for the fourth book. But as I ponder my love for Stiefvater's narratives and her flesh-and-blood characters, I feel as though this series could continue on indefinitely and I WOULD READ THEM. Forever.

Blue Lily, Lily Blue doesn't have quite the punch to it as the prior two books did to me, but the dramatic buildup featured makes me expect fireworks in the final installation. And how could there not be? So many questions have yet to be answered.

I applaud Stiefvater's ability to maintain a coherent storyline with a sizeable cast of characters, all so strong as to stand on their own literary feet--I found myself thinking that as yet more characters, whether quirky or dangerous or holler-in-your-face-Southern were introduced. I would value a story for lovely character development alone, but when you couple that Stiefvater's ability to weave an incredibly intricate storyline that will out of nowhere punch you right in the face with unforeseen events, or kick you right in your exposed feels, yeah. Your book merits five stars, hands down.
