It was so good to go back to Camp Half-Blood! I forgot how much I missed this crowd until I reread The Lightning Thief.

Percy Jackson, as always, was a delight to read. He's witty, kindhearted, and impulsive. I love his inner dialogue, as it adds so much to the story.

Annabeth is my spirit animal. She and I are so alike in so many different ways. From my first time reading the Percy Jackson series, I found myself at home in the Athena cabin.

As far as the plot goes, it is a middle grade, so it's not overly complex, but it's twisty and fun enough for me (though it might be the nostalgia talking or the fact that I don't need a perfect plot as long as there's awesome characters). There were some parts that I'd forgotten from my first time reading this, so there's always a few things to pick up and surprise you, even during a reread!

Overall, I'm so glad I reread this book and I can't wait to continue my reread of this series!
