The Alchemyst by Michael Scott
4.0

This is a fun book. Lots of magic and myth with a familiar enough story to not put young readers off. At the same time, the story is uniquely its own. The twins feel a bit poorly developed, especially considering that some of the secondary characters are more developed. But, there is a lot here for young readers. Adults will also be entertained and may learn something about alchemy and famous men and women of the Renaissance. I look forward to reading more and encouraging young readers I know to give these books a try.
