gbweeks 's review for:
The Bourne Identity
by Robert Ludlum
This is another reread from my childhood. At the time, I found it exciting and exotic. Now, I still thought the pace was great and the narrative really moved, but the characters are thin, the dialogue is not terribly realistic, and the insertion of French sentences (which seemed cool 40 years ago) seemed forced. There is a lot of italicized emphasis on how everything is madness .
I will say the character of Carlos is fun. Powerful, all knowing, but not quite perfect.
