i wish this hit me like i thought it was meant to?

i loved the way that you start with this unhinged lady who stays consistently mysterious and has unknown reasons for doing the things she does until the story decides to give you tiny little details that help you frame the narrative from this woman's perspective.

however, i do feel like it becomes less violent and strange where i think it could've been more effective if she continued to be the way that she is. like it seems like she changes a lot of her personality based on the events to the point that it seems a little unreasonable for her to change that much because of the things that unfold on the book?

and the whole ending i feel like could've been more effective because of the way that it was building the whole story and then it fell a tad flat? i do think it deviated a little off of what the rest of the characterisation of this woman was trying to go for especially in the first half of the book.
