The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose

5.0

Three’s a crowd in this marriage until Kelly is found stabbed to death and Adam, Sarah’s husband, is arrested for her murder , after all, her body was discovered at their lake house so he had to have been the one who killed her.

Adam, a struggling writer and Sarah a top defense attorney, don’t have the perfect marriage after all. When Adam is arrested for the murder of Kelly, Sarah must put her own feelings aside and defend her husband. She knows - or thinks she knows - that Adam is innocent. And she must do everything and anything possible to prove his innocence.

I can see why some people didn’t like this book. Adam is a whiny drunk who can never make up his mind and is always contradicting himself. The sheriff investigating the murder doesn’t know a thing about investigating. And no sheriff would ever work with/for the accused in any situation. Also, isn’t not drinking a condition of bail? I know it is in most states.

However, I loved this book and give it all 5 stars because it’s a totally f’ed up story. The amount of suspects keeps you guessing. I had a theory for almost every character. And Adam’s mother drunk was hilarious. I wish the scene would have went a little longer. Also the trial could have been a bigger factor than it was. But overall I enjoyed the ride.
