INCREDIBLE. honestly an easy sell for someone whos already constantly dreaming about living on the coast of maine, but the escapism piece was so wonderful. violet is a great troubled character without being too melodramatic or annoying. could see this being a reread for SURE.
favorite line: “now, please?” she asked, so very polite.
brief summary: after violet’s brother tries to kill himself and violet shows hardly any sympathy, her family sends her to lyric, maine for the summer to “cool down.” violet initially hates it, but through an investigation of a shipwreck, begins to enjoy it more and makes some friends (and a ya know, Friend).
