There are some books which you know will remain with you long after you have finished them, and this is definitely one of them. We are taken into another world (well, for me at least), and an extraordinary mixture of the influences that past and present, genetics and belief can have on a person. It is also a demanding book, with all those characters with the same or similar names and a complex network of family relationships making it sometimes difficult to know just what was going on. But nonetheless, very worthwhile and well worth it.
