I've had this for months and kept passing it up for...reasons. That was stupid. What a hidden gem; I adored it! Light, cute and hot. And best of all, my favorite kind of heroes: cinnamon rolls.
Nötchka, an alien woman who is a scavenger, is sworn to never mate as mating means being grounded in the home and subjugated by your mate. So when she goes into her first heatburn while on a job on a pleasure planet, she barely makes it to the droid district in time. Fate brings her to a Cozy House that's terribly run down with old, damaged models. Thankfully, the owner agrees to trade servicing for repairs.
There's adventure, mystery, attempted kidnapping, jealousy, passion and love. And while this certainly was not classic literature by any stretch of the imagination, it touched me. I immediately went back to the beginning to read it again.
And if I had my choice, I'd kidnap Romeo for myself. She has enough.
