Situationship
by Marina Adair
I love Marina Adair's romances and was excited to read Situationship, which seemed to me to be more along the lines of women's fiction. My early assessment was correct in that this book is definitely more about the growth of the main female character, Teague. I was so happy though that between the pages of this book was a tender (and sometimes steamy) second chance romance that made this reader quite happy!
The honest portrayal of a rule-following mom that wanted her kids to be safe and happy, while also daring to dream of a second chance for herself, was so relatable. The second chances didn't stop there. Teague was given a second chance at rebuilding her business, rekindling her first love, and also salvaging the relationship with her younger sister, Harper. Two very different women, both needing and wanting a connection to family, but afraid to trust because they'd both been let down so badly in the past. It's a beautifully written story about the power of forgiveness!
Situationship, the story of a woman reclaiming her life, is a book that moved me to tears and a story that will last with me for a long while.
