got this at a bookstore and finished in one night! i watched the movie when it first came out and really liked it. a lot of mixed opinions on this book but I, all in all, thought it was good. yes, the storyline is very traumatic and definitely a series of bad events. but i dont agree that she is some horrible insufferable person, just a product of her environment and honestly on the up and up by the end.
