The Incredible Shrinking Man by Richard Matheson

2.0

Hmmm...it was okay. Definitely not what I expected. It wasn't all just a guy running from insects and whatnot while trying to survive in a suddenly enlarged world. That was only half the book. Also very early on the protagonist stated he had 10 days left before he disappeared. That seemed an idiotic statement and turned out to be one as well as the "plot twist" toward the end. The main character also seemed to need some sessions at Rage-aholics Anonymous. He'd fly off the handle for nearly no reason. Moreover, half the book was a social commentary about shrinking in a normal-sized world. And that was fine. But there were some extraneous and strange parts. Once the main character falls in love instantly with a dwarf. And in a disturbing twist he starts to become a Peeping Tom to a 15-year-old girl who inexplicably starts traipsing around his house naked. Ehhh...not sorry I read it but wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
