Just Kids by Patti Smith

4.0

Always interesting to see the world through the perspective of someone who is so unlike yourself. This book gripped me from the very beginning. I think just the subtle poetry of Smith’s writing style just really spoke to me. It sort of felt like an older family member telling you a story about the past. I guess that’s what memoirs are, lolz, but Just Kids didn’t feel so in your face or formulaic as other memoirs can, at least in my opinion. Lovely read and also a great wealth of musical and film recommendations that I intend to mine in the future.
