As someone who grew into my own on queer IMs and messageboards, I had a lot of hope for this book. The beginning seemed to be tightly written, engaging, and coherent in the way that the relationship felt. However, about halfway through the book, the story escalated in it's horror past my comfort zone. How the story approached its end made me gag. Now, I do read distrubing fiction regularly and enjoy it, but this plot seemed to have taken a hard turn and didn't have a true resolution.
Graphic: Animal death, Body horror, and Medical content
Moderate: Toxic relationship
