An Awfully Big Adventure by Shawna Woodland
3.0

This book was….i had no idea how to rate this. I thought it was going to be 2-3 stars at the beginning. It was very slow to get started, so I wasn’t sure if i was going to like it or not. Once it picked up I enjoyed it, though it still felt like things took longer than they needed to. And there was so much left undiscussed, but I know she’s going to have further books in the series. I just felt very confused because honesty,….George and Molly seemed to have way more chemistry than Molly and Desmond. Maybe I’ve just read one too many enemies to lovers books, but I felt myself constantly guessing about what was going to happen. It also was very unclear what both of their feelings were towards each other. I like the discussion of childhood and growing up and all of those fantastical things, but it felt like it was being laid on a bit thick at points. That being said, the writing was very poetic, lyrical, and beautiful, and i guess in this style of fiction, it’s kind of the point to have long descriptive paragraphs. It was very beautifully written, and the characters were enticing.
