This is marketed as a thriller, but it’s of the suspense kind. There was plenty of tension about what might have happened, but often, not much did. The plots of thrillers are usually villain-driven, and this one isn’t. Instead, our protagonist causes the intermittent conflict that propels the story forward. That said, I really enjoyed the writing and blew through the book.
