Oh my gosh, this book was so freaking good!! That ending?!?! Can’t wait to read the second book and get to the “lovers” part of this “enemies to lovers”
The first part is a slow build but once you hit the first plot twist it’s just non stop action.
Karina did have to grow up super fast and her struggle with making decisions and “acting like a sultana” sometimes pushed the people closest to her away to her detriment.
There were many similarities in this book to other YA Fantasies but I didn’t mind them.
Waywardathon Prompt: Hookman (lore or mythology based)
Black Author Readathon Prompt: Fantasy/Paranormal
