Bridge of Snow by Marie Rutkoski

4.0

I'd forgotten that this tiny novella existed, until I was scrolling through my to-read shelf last night. Thankfully this is available online - you can read it at https://www.tor.com/2014/01/28/bridge-of-snow-marie-rutkoski/ - so I took a few minutes to read through it today, and it's almost achingly beautiful, and sets up The Winner's Trilogy extremely well. It's been years since I've read the series, but it was truly one of my all-time favorites, and getting this little glimpse of tiny Arin before everything in his world crashed down made me smile and feel sad at the same time. I think it's time I gave his story a reread, no?
