It was very interesting hearing someone's first-hand account of what i only watched from afar via news accounts.  The book is a weird mix of a kid growing up while, at the same time, caught up in an ideological struggle.  I don't understand how someone, having to lie about her life throughout her growing up years, can not be totally screwed up as an adult.  There were interesting insights into the life of a revolutionary but i found the ending to be abrupt and anti-climactic.
