After falling in love with The Silent Patient, I found this book leaving a lot to be desired. I did like how they both exist in the same timeline. The maidens reminded me a lot of the Manson family, and I’m very surprised that a school would allow this type of “relationship” between students and teacher.
after a while, I did suspect the niece (I already forgot names ) to have some sort of relationship with the husband. I’m surprised the main character didn’t suspect anything at all! I also found the main characters relationships to be a little too coincidental. Somehow we are supposed to believe that she is friends with the main investigator and a prominent professor at the school? Maybe that’s what’s to be expected at an elite establishment among the more well off.

Michaellides is the true master of twist endings!
