The Midnight Dance by Nikki Katz

1.0

This book has a beautiful cover.

That is a where the positives end.

The plot is bonkers, the pacing is ridiculous and the characters are so flat and uninteresting. It's full of dated YA tropes and is completely predictable. It's supposedly set in 19th century Italy but besides some occasional italicized Italian words there is no discernible sense of time or place.

But perhaps its greatest sin is that it has potential that it almost willfully avoids.

I cannot in good conscience recommend this book to anyone.

I received this from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
