Only a Monster by Vanessa Len

I definitely liked this a lot more than I thought I would, especially since my previous young adult read and I did not get along. I was expecting this to be more or less along the same lines, but was pleasantly surprised by the relative maturity of the language and writing, and how nothing was overly explained. I was, however, grounded by some story beats that firmly reinstated to me that this is still a young adult book (falling and staying in love with your family's murderer is a little unbelievable, to me at least), but for most of the novel, I was very much enthralled.
