the characters are what i liked the most about this book, it gave me the YA feel i haven’t found in a book in a long time mixed in with really nice writing and worldbuilding 

still, there was something about it that didn’t make it higher, i think the pacing is what got me, and also some plot choices that left me uninterested. 

i was definitely here more for the characters than the plot.
