I really thought I’d enjoy this more but found myself constantly dissociating and feeling slightly bored. I enjoyed the beautifully descriptive wording but found the overall theme a little shallow. (Although im aware it’s written from a teens perspective) the lack of depth in the inner world of their minds (just a wee personal preference that I like in novels!) just made this book feel a little empty.
I assume a lot of the magic is lost in translation, so it feels unfair to rate it lower than a three.
I will likely try and read it again in a few years to see if my opinion changes!
