Five Minutes Longer by Victoria Sue

4.0

Well, this was really good... until the end. I've read one other Victoria Sue novella, The Innocent Auction and here was the beginning of my review...
It would've been a solid 4 historical gay romance but the extra far fetched drama in the end just made it go down in 1. believably and 2. enjoyment.

And that pretty much sums up this one too except that I would've been on the fence between a 4 and a 5 on this one and ended up almost giving it a 3 because of the ridiculous and far fetched ending. For Finn to be in the wrong place at the wrong time once, OK, but twice, and then the reasoning
Spoiler The guy takes Finn because "he is a friend" of his childhood friend, not because he is "the agent", then he uses him as a bargaining tool to what, make the head of the FBI task force kill someone in rage? I didn't get what this was supposed to do. Turn moral support, right, wrong. And like they wouldn't see it was forced. Next, if he does kill him then the other guy will kill the boy?
WTF stupid ass drama. And of course the save comes right after the kill. Nope stupid ass ending and I am so mad I want to give it a 2 but the rest of the story was 4 1/2 and maybe could have been a 5. Really really nonsensical ending just to create drama which was bad. Outright bad. Since she did this with the historical mm romance that I read, above quote. I just think that is what she thinks is a good ending. Nope and I feel like giving it a 3. I loved it until that crap though. Her endings suck. I might try one more in this series but if it has the same kind of ending, I quit.
