Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by John Tiffany

2.0

I read this very emotionally and enjoyed reading it, if only for the fact that I got to see the characters again and my two favorite characters, Dumbledore and Snape, were shown in a positive light. For that, I gave it a 5 star rating due to the extremely enjoyable emotional experience I had with it.

However, after having some time to reflect about it, this was not well-written and not in-keeping with Harry Potter world canon. Ron and Hermione acted unlike themselves. The story between Harry and Albus was heartbreaking compared to everything Harry had been through in his life. I thought the idea of the villain was preposterous. And most importantly, the idea of how time works was completely changed from the canon created in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. So I'm knocking it down from 5 stars to 2.
