The Taming of the Tights by Louise Rennison

5.0

Tallulah Casey is back at Dother Hall for round 3 of performing arts school! Nothing seems to be going right for poor Lullah, the village girls all hate her, she can't decide what to do about Cain the bad, her teacher Dr. Lightowler hates her for being untalented and silly and to top it all off she doesn't know if Charlie likes her or not! Ever her little owlets have left the nest, leaving her alone. At least The Tree Sisters, Ruby and her bulldog Matilda still love her. Right? Follow Tallulah as she learns to fill her tights and earn the Golden Slippers of applause!

Tallulah, 1/5 of the Tree Sisters: I absolutely loved Lullah! She is so quirky and such a funny character. Everything that came out of her mouth made me laugh out loud! She was definitely my favourite character.
Jo, 1/5 of the Tree Sisters: I did not like Jo one bit. I found her so self absorbed it drove me insane. Whenever Lullah ACTUALLY had good news to share, Jo always shut her down and became angry that things weren't about her!
Vaisey, 1/5 of the Tree Sisters: I loved Vaisey, she is so so cute and sweet! She was such a good friend to Tallulah when she needed one and I loved how loyal she was always giving Lullah small gestures of encouragement and support.
Flossie, 1/5 of the Tree Sisters: Flossie is such a bad ass chick! I thought she was hilarious when she always used a Texan accent for no good reason at all other than because she's Flossie and she does what she wants.
Honey, 1/5 of the Tree Sisters: Although Honey is not really in this book, (she is in Hollywood being a STAR) I thought she should still be mentioned since she is after all a part of the Tree Sisters. I really liked Honey, especially how Louise Rennison wrote in her lisp. Not a lot of authors will actually write the dialogue with the speech impediment. With that being said, she was one of my favourite characters and I was sad to see her go in book 2.
Charlie, Tallulah's love intrest: I absolutely adored Charlie. He was so sweet to Tallulah and I loved how happy he made her. I also found him to be rather funny in some parts as well :)
Phil, Jo's love intrest: I really didn't care much for Phil, he kind of annoyed me a little... I think it's only because I didn't like Jo, so by default I can't like Phil.
Floppy Ben, Bat boy: I felt bad for Ben for most of the story because he got played quite a bit by Flossie. which made me not like Flossie a bit, but all turns out well in the end for Floppy Ben!
Jack, 1/4 of The Jones and Vaisey's love interest: Vaisey and Jack are so so cute! They're like little kids with crushes always excited to see each other! It made me smile every time I read a scene with them in it! Although, I didn't like how he didn't stand up for himself when it came to Cain and the band.
Cain the bad, 1/4 of The Jones: I must say I was rooting for Cain. I loved his character, even though he was quite rude. What can I say, what girl doesn't find bad boys irresistible.
Seth, 1/4 of The Jones: I don't really care for Seth. Except he and Flossie compliment each other nicely.
Ruben, 1/4 of The Jones: I don't care for Ruben either, he's not in the story much, I just thought I should include him so I had all 4 Jones of the band.
Ruby, Tallulah's little friend and her bulldog, Matilda: Ruby is such a funny character! Although she is only 11, she is quite wise for her age, giving Lullah advice on boys and what to do when snogging. I also loved reading about Matilda and all the quirky things that little dog got up to!
