The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides

5.0

Um...wow. Just wow. I went in thinking this would be more of a murder-mystery/who-done-it sort of story, but it didn't really turn out that way. I was a bit worried towards the middle that the story was sort of flattening out, but in the last 100 pages I just sat there with my mouth hanging open and my hands on my head in absolute shock. What an amazing twist, something I hadn't even considered, and it was executed masterfully by Michaelides. The last few chapters were definitely the best part of the whole thing, and now I completely understand why this won the thriller category of the Goodreads awards this year.
