Summary: Claribel is dying, but there’s a way to stop it. There’s only one small problem, in order to save herself, she has to give up the chance to avenge her sister’s death…or does she? In this adventurous standalone fantasy novella, Claribel seeks to overcome her own death sentence and defend the honor of her family alongside an unexpected companion, Edgar, in a race against time and the restrictions of magic.
What I loved:
-strong magical objects
-unexpected plot twist
-playful banter between characters
-strong FMC
-MMC gives FMC a cute nickname
-MMC gives FMC a cute nickname
What I didn’t love:
-The story was a novella so it was shorter than I would have liked. I could have read more pages of these characters and enjoyed it.
-character depth was lacking at times due to length of novella.
