Main points: Boring, queer baiting
This was a hard attempt to read. The premise was so great but the main characters are bland cookie cutter types. It was also marketed as an LGBTQ book. Its not. Literally just normalized gayness. There's gay married men in here.
I managed to make it to 176 before giving up. I try not to DNF books, but this one really was hard to get into. Eliana is supposed to be a bad ass assassin and bisexual, there is zero real emotion expressed from her like she really is a background character when she's supposed to be the MC. Simon is the only intriguing character I came across through the parts of the book I made it too.
Rielle is *almost* as bad as the other MC but at least seems a little bit more evolved and thought through. My biggest issue is the POV switching is so often, with barely any story told in between the changes that you can't connect to either of the MC'S. I struggle to see Rielle how I'm guessing I'm supposed to see her. This repressed beaten down girl because her father hates her. But she barely seems affected by her father's supposed hatred and the fact she killed her mother when she was little in an accident.
I could not make it through this book. It really wasn't my cup of tea.
