Every now and again I read a book that uses words in a way that I haven’t seen words used before, and if feels so fresh and so exciting and like oh yes this is writing. Which is to say, I really enjoyed this book, I found myself quite literally smiling at certain words and connections and choices. The quotes won’t do it justice though—you have to read the whole piece to truly feel it.

“The word last is a very versatile word…it can mean both finality and continuance, it can mean the last time, and something a lot more lasting than that.”

“I noticed the car clock was still on winter time…I pressed the button that changes time. Summer at last.”

“Houses change when people come in and out of them. Even the radio sounds different with just me here.”
