The Proposal Play by Lauren Blakely

5.0

I love this one, y’all.

Opposites attract in this gem from Lauren Blakely. What starts as an impulsive decision to get married in Las Vegas as a one-night adventure between two best friends gets drawn out into a marriage of convenience that leads the two friends to realize they have been in love with each other all along. Don’t you just love romance books???

At a glance:
- Dual POV
- Sports romance
- Best friend / best friend’s sibling (He’s best friends with her brother, too.)
- Opposites attract
- Marriage pact
- Let’s get married on a whim in Vegas!
- Marriage of convenience extended for work purposes
- Only one bed
- Mental health rep (anxiety)
- Banter
- Dogs
- Toys
- 🔥🔥🔥
- Oh my goodness, I have been in love with her this entire time! (I just love those revelations.)

There’s so much to love about this one, but a few of my favorite things are how these two understand each other and take care of each other, how they both have growth arcs in the book, and how we get to spend more time with other favorite Lauren Blakely characters along the way.

If you’re an audiobook listener, I highly recommend popping on some headphones and settling in with the duet narration by Vanessa Edwin and Robert Hatchet. They perfectly capture the playful, steamy, and vulnerable moments between Maeve and Asher.

I received advance copies of the ebook and audiobook from the author. All review opinions are my own.
