Did not finish book. Stopped at 15%.
I bought the book ages ago because i love the cover artist. Beautiful book, and it's especially fun that it glows in the dark!
When i finally picked it up to read, I kept getting stuck on the fat phobic, sexist, negative comments. Most of them came from adults toward children. Maybe that's intentional from the author, but overall took the fun out of the story for me.
While there are literary references and other comments that book lovers will enjoy, I also didn't appreciate that one of the bad things about the Effie's stepmother is that she reads romance novels.
